The Athens 2004 olympics are ready to roll and there are some olympic athletes to watch in these summer games!

U.S. olympic athlete, swimmer Michael Phelps, 19, of Baltimore arrives in Athens chasing a record eight gold medals. Michael Phelps, who holds three world records could find his biggest obstacles in a pair of Ians--Ian Crocker from the University of Texas and Ian Thorpe from Australia.

U.S. olympic gymnast Carly Patterson from Allen, Texas, hopes to win several medals in her first olympic games in Athens 2004. The 16-year-old won a team gold medal and the silver in the all-around event at the 2003 World Championships. At the athens olympics, Carly Patterson could duel with Russian star Svetlana Khorkina in the all-around. Carly Patterson along with Courtney Kupets are favored to win the team title with the US gymnastic team.
